Outline

  1. If you are not sure, search for your town to see if you may have already signed up 

  2. Setup an eScrip group by mailing an enrollment form:       http://groups.escrip.com/enrollment/enroll_gc_unauth.pdf

  3. Wait for your school's ID number and your coordinator login.

  4. Create an eScrip information page on your school site that covers everything

  5. Put an eScrip picture link to that page on your home page 

  6. Add the eScrip Web Mall link on your website's main menu

  7. 1st year: just promote volunteer parent participation

  8. Communicate to parents to click the eScrip picture on your home page for signup information

  9. 2nd year: require participation or pay a supply/technology fee

  10. Promote the use of the eScrip Web Mall in every newsletter and gathering

  11. Remind parents at the beginning of every school year to update cards

1.  If you are not sure, search for your town to see if you may have already signed up  A past administrator or secretary may have already signed your school up.  It is also helpful to see who else in your community is using eScrip for competition reasons.   

2. Setup an eScrip group by mailing an enrollment form:  http://groups.escrip.com/enrollment/enroll_gc_unauth.pdf   Print the enrollment form, complete it, mail it. 

3. Wait for your school's ID number  This is needed for website and document content.  Tell your webmaster to do steps 4,5,6 changing your School Name and ID.  You will receive the coordinator login to view reports and print fliers.

4. Create an eScrip information web page that covers everything  Make a school web page dedicated to eScrip.  It should contain simple information and appropriate links so the parents can signup.   Here is a sample page's content.  This example has working links to eScrip that will work for your school, but you will need to change the red text for school name and ID number!   Webmasters: click here for the html code of this sample page or copy/paste the area below (eScrip logo to step 5) into your wysiwyg editor.

3 Steps To Help!  

1. Securely update/register your debit, credit, grocery, Macys cards! (Login to My eScrip and use the register links on the home page to register or update cards.  Proven security record.)

2. Shop at local merchants listed on the At the Store using your registered credit or debit cards!

3. Enter ALL online stores from the eScrip Web Mall link on our school menu before purchasing! (OR go to escrip.com and click Mall)

 Help us keep tuition down and finance additional activities at our school by using eScrip!  By signing up and securely associating your ATM, credit, grocery, Macys cards to your eScrip account, you can help us without any extra effort.  Note: We only see your eScrip total support in our reports (not where you shop).  

You can use your ATM or credit cards at select area businesses, and they automatically give us a percentage!  

Also, enter major online shopping sites from the eScrip Web Mall link on our home page (or Mall link at escrip.com) so we can get a percentage. (Travelocity. Expedia, Barnes Noble, Ebay, Dell, Target, almost anything!)

Step by step signup instructions:

1. Print this web page so you will have instructions (1-2 sheets)

2. Click this Signup link and the signup window will open.

3. Click the Group ID circle and enter our number 777777777 then click Search.

4. Click our school link then click Next on the next screen.

5. Fill in your name and information, then click Next.

6. Grocery Stores: Click the Select Card down arrow and look for stores that you have a card for such as a grocery store.  Enter your card number.  Use the second Select Card if you have another, etc.  Then click Next.

7. ATM and credit cards:  Click the Select Card down arrow and choose the type of card you have.  Enter your card number.  Use the second Select Card for another, etc.  Please register all of your cards to help us!  Our reports only show a total benefit from your help and we cannot see where you shop or what you buy. eScrip has a proven security record. Then click Next.   (Make sure to check special school help that is often offered on this page such as extra credit for dining, etc.)

8. Enter your Macy's or LinenNThings card if you have one, otherwise click Next.

9. Look over your information and click Confirm at the bottom.  PRINT the Thank You page which has your ID.  

10. Click the Create your personal password link and enter a password twice.  Use a password that is different than online banking!  Write down you password on the ID paper you printed.  If you ever forget your ID or password, click the Forgot Password link and it will be automatically emailed to you.  

11. Always go to the school site and click the eScrip Web Mall link before you shop online!   Often smaller online purchases pay bigger percentages!

12. Click the At the Store link on the eScrip website to see which stores in our area will contribute to our school!

5. Put an eScrip picture link on your home page to #4   Put this text and picture on your Home page.  Make the picture a hyperlink to your eScrip web page (#4 above).  Since this is mainly a once per year parent visit, you normally do not want to add it to your menu, and #6 below is better on your menu because it needs more visibility and easy access.

6. 7. 1st year: just promote volunteer parent participation Use your newsletter and parent meetings to promote the easy use of eScrip. Make sure to also promote the Web Mall!  Ask every parent that walks into the office if they have signed up.  If they haven't, hand them a Signup Form or the online signup instructions below.

You can access a printable Supporter Signup Form from your coordinator login (which you receive after enrolling).  It is available under News/Tools.

We would like to upgrade our technology training this year.  In order to do this, I would like to ask every family to help us improve our technology program by giving us five minutes of your time this week to register your grocery and other cards with eScrip. eScrip can help us finance our technology program if each family will take just a few minutes to signup. Essentially, there are two ways to help us.  

First, by just signing up and registering your grocery and other cards with eScrip, we automatically receive a small percentage whenever you spend money at participating stores.  

Second, if you ever shop online, such as airline tickets, computers, books, or any major company, always go to the school website and click the eScrip Web Mall button to get to the shopping site. 

Just go to our school website and click the eScrip logo for simple instructions to signup or pickup the simple signup instructions at the back.

8. Communicate to parents to click the eScrip picture on your home page for signup information You may even want to encourage parents to promote helping your school to grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends!  Maybe offer a special pizza party to every student that has encouraged a non-parent eScrip signup.  Maybe even offer a $50 gift certificate to the student that has the most signups. Students will need to notify you who they are so you can check to see if they signed up.  

9. 2nd year: require participation or pay a supply/technology fee  After your parents have become accustomed to using eScrip and can see how easy it is, consider requiring participation in your enrollment forms/procedures for the second year of using eScrip.  You should always offer them an optional fee (supply or technology) that can be paid if they do not want to participate.  Some schools even require a minimum eScrip participation amount (i.e. $75-$100) by January 1st or the parents must pay the supply/technology fee anyway in May.  Parents can easily see their accumulated participation online. 

10. Promote the use of the eScrip Web Mall in every newsletter and gathering  The eScrip Web Mall has the potential to increase your benefits substantially!  Parents are buying online anyway, but they need reminded constantly to use the eScrip Web Mall link before buying from a site!  

Please remember to use the eScrip Web Mall link on the school's website before buying anything online!  You can quickly find stores in the Online Mall, by clicking the category title to see all stores of that type.   Hint: If you find something you are going to buy online but didn't get to it from the eScrip Web Mall, remember what store it is, then use the eScrip Web Mall link on the school's website to get back to it. 

11. Remind parents at the beginning of every school year to update cards  Some cards such as grocery cards must be re-registered every year.  Often the parent will be reminded when they login to their My eScrip, but sometimes the parents need to be reminded to login to their My eScrip!  Parents will often acquire new cards or are issued new numbers with expired cards, so you should have an annual campaign to remind them to update them.
